Simple vulvectomy
Placing the patient in the lithotomy position.
Anesthetizing the patient according to the procedure.
Performing a color test with 2% toluidine blue aqueous solution.
Decontaminating the surgical field.
Draping the surgical field with sterile drapes. Incising the skin of the vulva about 3 cm above the clitoris, from the midline. The incision is extended circularly downward outward from the labia majora and ends in the midline halfway between the posterior frenulum and the anus. A similar incision is made on the opposite side of the vulva. Necessary margin of 2 cm outward from the lesion. The internal incision is guided from the midline 1 cm above the external urethral outlet bilaterally, circular downward along the inner surface of the labia minora and ends at the posterior frenulum. The skin and subcutaneous tissue of the vulva are then cut out. Hemostasis of the surgical site. Sutures to the subcutaneous tissue. Single sutures to the skin.Insertion of a bladder catheter. Control of continuity of rectum. Transportation of the patient to the recovery room.
